In 2006, Martin’s Hotels had a turnover of € 23,770,000, a 5 % increase compared to 2005 and made a net profit of € 400,000.
In 2007, following the takeover of Martin’s Central Park, the Group’s turnover will exceed € 25,000,000.
Over the last 4 years, Martin’s Hotels has more than doubled its capacity, going from 240 rooms to 530. As of today, it is planning to add a further 170 rooms over the next 3 years, with the extension to the Grand Hôtel Waterloo (30 rooms) and 60 rooms in Leuven, as well as the opening of a new, 80-room hotel in Mechelen.
In a parallel development, the Château du Lac will, in spring 2008, be installed with a 1,200 m2 Spa on the roof, with a view over the Lake.
Other projects are also in the pipeline to help develop the Group’s capacity in the years to come. In its latest and future developments, Martin’s Hotels prefers acquisitions based on long-term rentals, or through signing a ‘management contract’ to help speed its growth.
The Group’s latest acquisition, Martin’s Central Park, was carried out by signing a long lease with the Arco Group, in the same vein as Martin’s Brugge.
The results achieved from these 2 projects are excellent. The turnover at Martin’s Brugge has grown by over 25% compared to the previous year, while the first few months of operation at Martin’s Central Park are already showing an increase of 15% in turnover.
